Second Chapter of Bested now available

The thrilling second installment of Bested: A Colbie Best Mystery is here. For those of you already playing, all you need to do is get the update from the App Store (for some this may be automatic). There’s no charge for existing players of Bested.

And if you’re new to Bested, there’s still time to get in on the fun at the introductory price. From now through Monday, December 2nd, Bested remains on sale. After that, it goes to its secondary price (for the release of Chapter 2, see here for details) - still at a discount and an excellent bargain.

This update to Bested also gives players the ability to jump to available chapters, so if you’ve played Chapter 1 and accidentally deleted the game you can pick up at the start of Chapter 2. And if you haven’t finished Chapter 1 but are a time traveler at heart, and don’t mind spoilers, you can spring ahead or back or whatever you enjoy.

Have fun!

First chapter of first Colbie Best adventure is here

An all new adventure game series starts today on the App Store with the release of Bested: A Colbie Best Mystery. Make new friends in the MysteryCaper universe and reconnect with popular favorites as you delve into another madcap escapade.

We are planning at least three games in the Colbie Best series, each split into three chapters. Chapter 1 kicks things off now, with Chapter 2 coming around the end of November.

With this new structure comes an exciting new pricing system. For the next few weeks, during its initial first-chapter release, Bested is one third the normal price ($1.99 in the US). Once Chapter 2 is available, new adventurers get Bested for two thirds the price ($3.99 US). With the release of Chapter 3, the game is fully available and priced as normal ($5.99 US).

And here is the (Colbie) Best part. If you buy early, you get all three chapters of Bested, as they become available, at no additional cost. No fuss, no in-app purchases, just a great discount for a great game. Think of it as a season pass that benefits early adopters. Take that, other season passes!

Hope you like our new pricing system and enjoy!

New game - coming soon!

No need to Beware the Ides of March. This year they bring an exciting new adventure game from MysteryCaper Productions. The Beast of Bodkin Hall is coming your way March 15th. Don’t miss out!

Yestertide is here

Our newest, longest and most exciting adventure game yet, Yestertide, has just been released!

This time, you’re a weary backpacker who takes a rest in a mysterious island town just before it’s cut off from the mainland - and not just the mainland, but time and space itself. Some rest!

Yestertide has something for everyone - comedy, intrigue, visitors from another reality, cats - everything you have come to expect from MysteryCaper games (except for the cats - they’re new). Oh, did we mention time-travel?

As one of our more involved games, we welcome discussion and hint requests. You can post a question in the comments section below, or contact us directly, if you prefer. And of course there is our world-famous hints engine (well, maybe not world-famous, but a couple people have heard of it). When you’ve solved the game (saving the town and the world and all those cats), don’t miss the post-game discussion at the bottom of the hints page. It’s the game that keeps on giving.

Enjoy!

Hints

Over the years, players have reached out to us to ask about hints, strategies, etc, in our games. We love that. A lot of the time, though, these questions appear within a review on an app store. We love the reviews - so many of you have let us know how much you enjoy our games, and that means a lot. But if anyone does have a question about gameplay or needs a further hint not found in our hint system, it might be easier to post it here.

App stores have a built-in delay, both on the posting of reviews and our responses, so posting questions here (or contacting us) will allow us to get back to you that much quicker.

Thanks and enjoy!
