How do I talk with my ally?
Well, you won't exactly "talk."

But you will communicate.

Using a way you've used before. Or at least, a way the ally used before.

Watch out for mail pigeons.

Your old friend Prime Navigator will fly down and alight on the Fountain at some point. (He pays you a visit after you've completed a few necessary tasks. See above.)

Tap him to get a message.

Did you see where he flew off to?

The Pigeon Post is run off the Curiosity Shop rooftop.

Too bad there's aliens blocking the staircase.
--
Maybe you could go up another way?
--
Those vines look fairly sturdy.

How to reach them, though?

Have you seen a LADDER anywhere?
--
Have a look in Gio's Apothecary.
--
Grab the ladder next to the crank.
--
Place the ladder against the Curiosity Shop wall.
--
Now climb up to the rooftop. Be careful.
--
Right, so where's that pigeon, then?
--
Maybe in his coop?
--
Tap the pigeon coop to make him appear. Now try to catch him. (Note that he will only be in his coop after he has appeared on the Fountain.)

He's an elusive fellow. Does this remind you of something?
--
You can use the same trick you used to catch him last time.
--
Take note of the holes he appears from. There's a hint of the way he moves in his name too.

He only comes out of holes that are prime numbers.
--
Namely holes 2, 3, 5, 7, 11 and 13.

Tap on the next hole in the sequence to the one he's currently in to catch him.

Now set him on the table, and let's get down to business.

Tap the pen to start writing to your ally. You will get an almost instant response via the pigeon. It works just like regular conversation, just with more scribbling and without seeing each other's faces.

Make sure to talk to your ally about the CLIMBING SKETCH you found in the Solicitor's drawer, the ALIEN POWER SOURCE and the TIME FOB (the Time Fob will give you a message with "The Plan" in return).

When you're ready, climb back down using the vines again.
