…
“Calvin!” said Warren Kingsley, twirling on his heel to engage the menace face to face.
The man Warren liked to call “Calvin” scowled. His name was not “Calvin” or anything like “Calvin.” Why Warren persisted in referring to him as such continued to baffle him. But when you’re a ruthless assassin who prefers to conduct your business anonymously, you must take what you are given.
“I trust I am not disturbing you?” he asked.
The bodyguard made a vague gesture. As it happened, he had just gotten his client, Sir Roger Banbury, down for the night and was looking forward to a little quiet time with a soothing beverage.
“Now that you mention it, if tomorrow morning works just as well for you—”
Calvin was sorry to say that it did not. He had business to conduct tonight.
